Hillview is proud to offer our guests the perfect opportunity to experience good old fashioned country hospitality – fresh food sourced locally and cooked via authentic camp oven, sitting around a bonfire while dining under the stars.

Camp oven cooking is part of Australian out back history. Over the ages the Camp Oven has been used by drovers, shearers, and bushmen on the move and by miners during the days of the gold rush.

The dinner will be prepared and cooked by Matt, Tarcutta’s very own local farmer and bush cook with 30+ years experience in the outback bush. With his wealth of experience in the outback, ask him any question from what to do when you encounter a brown snake to Aboriginal way of life and art. He will be more than happy to share his experience.

Note: A minimum group of 10 needs to reached for the camp oven to occur.
